The Lamella is libido without sexuality, insisting beyond singular existence, beyond life and death. As Lacan put it, the lamella does not exist, it insists. It is the immortal life that we lose at birth.
From the perspective of the immortal libido, sexual realization is a deception, urging us to an imaginary wholeness with another and tempting us to reproduce another unsatisfied being who will, like us, suffer from a lack of immortal fulfillment.
Still, sex is all we have as singular, mortal beings.
